Peninsula Yacht Basin is Gig Harbors first Envirostars Certified Clean Marina and is located at the foot of Gig Harbor with a great selection of local restaurants, pubs and shops to keep you busy all day. Finholm’s Market and Deli is across the street to your left and about a block up. They have ice, beverages, a beer tap room featuring local beers as well as a good selection of food and snacks.

At the marina there is a North to South tidal flow at a little over 1 knot which means that getting in and out of your slip is about as good as it gets in the harbor. We have a daily check of the docks and boats by a Dock Master except on Christmas and Thanksgiving day.

Originally the pier was built in the late 1900’s and served as the ferry from Gig Harbor to Tacoma. Peninsula Yacht Basin was the first recreational boat marina in Gig Harbor opening 1947.  Over the years the facility has gone thru many changes with the average boat in 1972 being under 30 feet and now our average is over 40 feet.  Today our covered gated parking provides a secure area available 24 hours a day. When walking down our scenic pier one gets a feeling of days past and gives one a wonderful sense of nature.

Our Mission is to provide a clean, safe and enjoyable marina for your boating experience. We offer a great start for your journey whether it’s quick day sail in Commencement Bay or a month long trip up to the San Juan Islands. Peninsula Yacht Basin is a family owned facility and dedicated to continuing the tradition of providing a place to moor your boat that is welcoming to your family and friends. You can know that your boat is in careful hands at Gig Harbor’s Peninsula Yacht Basin.
